Babe Ruth Calgary mourns the sudden passing of   
Darwin Kraft, 1947 - 2010.

Our condolences go out to his family. Darwin was a long term contributer and volunteer to Babe Ruth Calgary's Baseball programs. 

Darwin's funeral was held on Tuesday August 31st, 10:00 am at Foster's Garden Chapel, 3220 - 4 Street N.W.

It is with profound sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Darwin in Calgary, Aug 24, 2010 at the age of 63. Darwin is servived by his beloved wife Rosemarie and his two loving children, Lynette Moen and Darcy Kraft; one grandchild Taryn Faith Moen, all of Calgary. He is also servived by his one sister, Velma Colwell of Leduc, Alberta.  Darwin was born in Lacombe, Alberta, and raised and educated in New Brigden. On August 30, 1969 he married his High School sweetheart, Rosemarie Faichuk of Oyen. He was actively involved in playing and coaching baseball his entire life, his greatest accomplishment was being able to coach at the Babe Ruth World Series, which was a life-long goal. Darwin was also recognized for his leadership and coaching excellence by the City of Calgary with a 2008 Calgary Booster Club Award. (Babe Ruth Calgary would like to add that Darwin was contributing his time to BRC this Fall by coordinating the Awards for our annual Players Banquet. He never stopped caring about, and contributing to, our league. )
